Batman, Robin, and Batgirl Costumes. Back to the 1966 Batman Technical Manual
Batman's Costume and Accessories:
Batman Costume: This is a sketch of the 1966 Batman costume. A far cry from the more recent Batman costumes from the movies. Not even one etched/fake muscle! |
Batman's Belt Buckle: This is a sketch depicting a close-up vhot of the Bat-buckle from Batman's Utility Belt. This is the first, and last, tme the buckle would be gold and shiny. Since the 1966 Batman television show the buckle has been dull and black. It blends right in with the newer costumes.
Batman's Logo: This sketch shows a close-up of Batman's chest logo. In the 1966 television show it was bright yelow and black, a look that would never be used in future movies, etc. The only other presentation of Batman usuing a yellow and black logo was Batman The Animated Series. Now even the cartoon does not use this logo.

Batman's Utility Belt: This sketch depicts the famous Batman Utility Belt. This is probably batmans most famous piece of apparrel. No matter what the emergency the safer of the day was always in that belt of his. Hmm....
Robin's Costume and Accessories:
Robin's Costume: This is a sketch of the 1966 Robin costume. This costume is also very different from the modern Robin costumes of the movies. Again there are no etched muscles, as with Batman's costume. In addition it is not made of the reflective, hard material of the modern Robin costumes.
Robin's Utility Belt: This sketch depicts Robin's Utility Belt. I don't ever remember Robin pulling anything out of his belt. It may have been there simply to hold up those tights of his!
Robin's Belt Buckle: This is a sketch depicting a close-up shot of the buckle from Robin's Utility Belt. |
Robin's Logo: This sketch shows a close-up of Robin's chest logo. |
Batgirl's Costume:
Batgirl's Costume: This is a sketch of the 1966 Batgirl costume. Unfortuantely this is the only sketch I have related to Batgirl. I will try to get/make more in the future. |
